Introduction

Hello everyone, I'm X_coder, core developer of Paywall.tel. Today I'm pleased to share the latest progress of our project with you. This AMA is based on my recent in-depth exchange with "Lao Yao" (https://x.com/SMculture_cn), leader of SMCulture. He raised many core questions that investors and users care about, which I find very representative and worth sharing.

SMCulture Community Profile

SMCulture is Asia's leading SM subculture community, primarily focusing on adult content creation, education, and commercialization. The community has a main channel on Telegram with over 310,000 followers (https://t.me/SMculture), making it one of the most influential Chinese communities in this field.

The community not only provides SM cultural content from beginner to advanced levels but also actively explores Web3 technology applications in the adult industry. Leader "Lao Yao" participated in the Japan WebX Summit, discussing RWA (Real World Assets) applications in tourism and the adult entertainment industry, possessing profound practical experience in adult content monetization and blockchain technology integration.

SMCulture operates a complete paid subscription model, providing tiered content services while actively seeking cross-border partners. As a multi-platform, paid-driven professional community, Lao Yao's views have strong industry representation.

Project Overview

LaoYao: Can you briefly introduce what Paywall.tel is?

X_Coder: Paywall.tel is not just a simple bot tool, but a complete channel operations management system. Our vision is to build a decentralized content monetization ecosystem where everyone can earn income through this platform:

  • Channel Owners: Earn money through quality content
  • Promoters: Get high-proportion commissions by promoting channels
  • Regular Users: Enjoy high-quality paid content
  • Investors: Share ecosystem growth by holding PAY tokens

The core vehicle is a Telegram bot, but behind it is a complete platform similar to "Weidian."

Technical Architecture and Choices

LaoYao: Why choose Solana instead of TON? Doesn't Telegram have its own blockchain?

X_Coder: This was a carefully considered decision:

  1. Cost Considerations: Our system needs to trigger multiple automatic transactions for one payment (purchasing PAY, distributing to channel owners, promoters, etc.). TON's transaction fees of several tenths of a dollar would make costs too high. Solana's fees are only a few cents.

  2. Ecosystem Maturity: Solana's ecosystem is more active, the community is more willing to teach, making user learning thresholds actually lower.

  3. Globalization Strategy: We plan to serve the global market and need to choose an internationally recognized public chain. Solana has good support worldwide.

  4. Technical Reservation: If needed in the future and the TON community gives us support, we can build a cross-chain bridge on TON to achieve dual-chain operation.

LaoYao: Isn't the threshold too high for ordinary users to use Solana?

X_Coder: There is indeed a learning threshold, but this is the necessary path for Web3 development:

  • For users with trading experience, just install a wallet and get it done in ten minutes
  • For new users, the time cost to learn Solana and TON is the same (3 hours to 1 day)
  • Moreover, the Solana community is more active and it's easier to get help
  • Users can easily obtain USDT through exchanges like Binance

Token Economic Model

LaoYao: Why issue PAY tokens? Wouldn't it be simpler to trade directly with USDT?

X_Coder: PAY tokens are the core of the entire ecosystem and have several important functions:

  1. Community Cohesion: Form community consensus and belonging around the token

  2. Financing Function: Investors support project development by holding tokens and share ecosystem growth returns

  3. Incentive Mechanism: PAY tokens have practical application scenarios. Promoters don't need to directly call people to buy coins; they just need to practically teach people to use the platform and enjoy platform content, which naturally triggers PAY purchasing actions, without needing to pump and dump

  4. Value Capture: Through the token burning mechanism, platform revenue will drive long-term token value growth

  5. Ecosystem Expansion: Multiple applications can be developed around PAY in the future, just like BNB

Market Positioning and Demand Analysis

LaoYao: Is the market research for this project sufficient? Are there successful reference cases?

X_Coder: I admit this project has no direct benchmarks, but this is precisely our advantage:

  1. Demand Authenticity: The project originated from my actual need to build paid groups. The initial concept covered various paid group chat scenarios like tutorial software, video sharing, blockchain consulting services, etc. Later research discovered this is a universal demand

  2. Essential Demand Support: We observed genuine market demand in the adult industry, which aligns with Maslow's hierarchy of needs regarding basic needs. Users in this field have strong willingness to pay, providing a stable business foundation for the platform

    Brief Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs: Psychologist Maslow divided human needs into five levels, from low to high: physiological needs, safety needs, social needs, esteem needs, and self-actualization needs. Physiological needs are the lowest and most basic needs, including food, water, sleep, and other basic survival needs. These needs have the strongest driving force; when unsatisfied, they become the main motivation for people's actions.

  3. Market Validation: Collected extensive feedback and suggestions through exchanges with different friends

  4. Innovation Advantage: If there were mature competitors, I wouldn't do this project. The key is correct logic, then forming a moat through technology

  5. Bitcoin Inspiration: Bitcoin's success also had no benchmark but conformed to currency logic, eventually becoming a global currency

LaoYao: Won't the project be too functionally complex?

X_Coder: We adopt the "WeChat model":

  • Focus core functions to the extreme (paid channel management)
  • First focus on private channels, not trying to do everything
  • Though the starting point is small, the market is vast
  • Unlike QQ's excessive functions, we maintain simplicity and focus

LaoYao: Can you explain in detail how the revenue ecosystem works?

X_Coder: This is a complete ecosystem where all four parties win:

Channel Owner Revenue

  • Use free bot, no monthly fees
  • Get user payments through quality content
  • Cost: Invest time to maintain content quality

  • No need to create content, promote others' channels to get high-proportion commissions

X_Coder: Current progress is 90%, the bot is basically formed. Due to complex channel member management and PAY token automatic purchase transactions and multi-channel distribution, more time is needed to handle details.

Timeline:

  • Fast completion within a month
  • Slow release during Spring Festival (everyone has time to tinker then)

Release Roadmap:

  1. Crowdfunding: Raise funds for subsequent project development
  2. Demonstration Channel: Establish the first demonstration channel as the outbreak starting point
  3. Early Validation: A dozen seed users find bugs and provide suggestions
  4. Public Promotion: Hundreds of community members promote outward, getting many channel owners to join

Risks and Challenges

LaoYao: What are the main challenges facing the project?

X_Coder: Frankly, main challenges include:

  1. Technical Threshold: Users need to learn Solana usage, but this is the necessary path for Web3

  2. Market Education: Need to make users understand the value of the token economic model

  3. Regulatory Risk: Choosing cryptocurrency is precisely to avoid traditional financial regulatory risks

  4. Competitive Pressure: Imitators could appear at any time, needing technology and ecosystem moats

  5. User Habits: Need to change users' traditional payment habits

But these challenges are also opportunities. The first project to solve these problems will gain huge advantages.

Globalization Vision

LaoYao: What is the project's long-term plan?

X_Coder: Our ultimate goal is globalization:

  1. Bilingual Support: The website already supports Chinese and English, the bot will also launch an English version

  2. Market Strategy: First validate in the Chinese market, then promote globally

    • Developed countries' consumption power is several times that of the Chinese region
    • High wage levels, strong willingness to pay
  3. Technical Architecture: All interfaces have reserved internationalization support

  4. Risk Distribution: Doing global markets can reduce single-market regulatory risks

Participation Opportunities

LaoYao: How can investors and users participate in the project?

X_Coder: The project is currently 90% developed, planning to open more participation opportunities at 95%:
